Mike Nadeau founded the original company, BNR Excavating, Inc., in 1997.
After 20+ successful years as a heavy equipment operator Mike had
experience and qualifications it would take to start his own company. The
skills he had learned starting with how to drive a truck on the old
highways in Red Wing, MN to operating some of largest heavy equipment in
the state formed superior earthwork, site utilities, and demolition skills
in Mike. Adding to Mike's expertise is his
certifications in welding and pipe laying. Over the years Mike's
experience in commercial contracting has successfully built this
excavating company. His knowledge in estimating, project managing,
equipment fleet and inventory control, and valued engineering have secured
the contracts it takes to grow and build an excavating company. It is
relevant in the construction industry, especially when you are just
starting out, to maintain "cash-flow". Because of Mike's exceptional
estimating skills, the company has done just that...."grown consistently,
steadily, and financially"! |

Shonna Nadeau joined
the original company in 1998 when she began to restructure their finances,
job-costing, budgeting, focus on understanding the “bottom-line”, and
developing corporate policies that are designed specifically to ensure
that this excavating company is successful. |
Union pride, attention to each employee as individuals, approaching each
decision with safety in mind, and valuing the thoughts of others in an
approachable manner is what Mike is all about. All jobs are equally
important and the focus it takes to get them done is secured with Mike's
attention to details and organizational skills.
When Mike and Shonna joined forces in 2005 the company
became known as Nadeau Excavating, Inc. Every scope of daily operations
has the undivided attention of both partners. While both Mike and
Shonna's skills and expertise monitor and control different areas,
together their focus is "unmatched". The energy of both partners combined
secures the future, finances, and focus this company needs to be
successful. |

The year 2005 was a
key-turning point for the newly christened company called Nadeau
Excavating, Inc. (formerly BNR Excavating, Inc.-originating in 1997).
Shonna and Mike Nadeau formally purchased all stock for the company and
became partners.
The traditional focus behind Shonna’s
passion and dedication to see that this company succeeds comes from her
experience and work history at both the St. Cloud and Mpls. Veteran’s
Administration, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of
Science-Accounting, and holding her Real Estate license-GRI Designation.
Shonna firmly believes that "90% of the friction
of daily life is caused by the wrong tone of voice". It is her
dedication to approach the construction industry "unintrusive". As we
all know the construction industry can be one of the most intense
industries there is to work in. Utilizing an "unintrusive" focus
ensures that contracts, change orders, relationships, and day-to-day
business operations are successful.
